Black Cat Racing Garage was a dream August Licano had always aspired for.
In 2021, that dream became a reality.
Owner August Licano is a SoCal native and was a former worker/apprentice under legendary Porsche Racing specialist Jae Lee, the notable owner of Mirage Intl in San Diego.
August had always been a talented mechanic, however, working many years under Jae, this experience truly gave August the diverse skill set he has today.
Black Cat Racing Garage and August’s purpose is simple. He’s passionate about helping other enthusiasts and racers achieve their goals. August believes that racing should be possible for everyone, regardless of status.
From fabrication to rebuilding racing engines, August Licano is a knowledgeable and a precise technician.
After the relocation of Jae’s shop to Yucca Valley, August has returned to Los Angeles and decided to open his own shop.
The name “Black Cat” is originated by his very own black cat partner named Calcifer, who enjoys keeping August company while he works.
Whether you’re into rotaries, v8’s, or classics, August and Black Cat Racing Garage is open for discussion and business.
Last but not least, sales profits will be donated to local pet rescues.
